Abstract

Analysis of the electric power system within the framework of the overall energy system, using a methodology developed for the Commission of the European Economic Communities (EEG), is discussed. The methodology, called EFOM (energy flow optimization model), has been developed for purposes of technical-economic analysis of the overall energy system, and has been applied to different EEC member states in this context. Recent experience in some developing countries has proved EFOM to be a useful tool also for purposes of sectoral analysis and planning within the framework of the overall energy system. An example application of EFOM methodology to the sectoral analysis of a real power system is included. >
