Abstract

Background: Cesarean section delivery is considered a higher risk to the newborn infant than a vaginal delivery. Consequently, in our institution, a minimum of a three person team (neonatologist, respiratory therapist, nurse) is called to all cesarean section deliveries, while one nurse, competent in neonatal resuscitation, is called to term, uncomplicated vaginal deliveries.
