Abstract
The two damage parameters needed to describe isotropic damage are shown to define a damage domain and the evolution of damage is defined by a path within that domain. Physical limitations on the path to full damage are developed. A thermodynamically consistent set of constitutive equations with which the damage path can be evaluated is developed for a specific material.
