Abstract

The ultrasonic compressional velocity ( V l) and shear velocity ( V s) in Li–Mn ferrites are measured at room temperature by the ultrasonic pulse transmission technique at 1 MHz frequency as well as the values of Young's moduli ( E), rigidity modulus ( n), Debye temperature ( θ D), mean sound velocity ( V m) and shear velocity ( V s). The variation of elastic moduli with composition has been interpreted in terms of binding forces between the atoms of spinal lattice.
