Abstract
The article reflects on the ministry of catechists from a theological-pastoral perspective. Starting from the recovery of some elements of the physiognomy of this particular service of the Christian community, we seek to show how the work of communicating the contents of the faith and its particular experience by the communities in which the catechists are found It seeks to account for those elements that give meaning to said specific mission. The catechetical mission involves, in short, an attentive listening to the tradition of the Church as well as a creative transmission of it in an intimate bond with the force of the Spirit that energizes said listening and word.
