Abstract

This research aims to develop a textbook based on Problem Based Learning with nuanced ethnomathematics on students' mathematical problem solving abilities in social arithmetic material. The type of research used is 4D (Four-D) development research that is modified using three stages only, namely: 1) the defining stage (define); 2) the level of designing (design), and; 3) the stage of development (develop). Questionnaires are used as data collection techniques as well as data analysis using descriptive qualitative and quantitative. The results showed the feasibility score of textbook from material experts and practitioners of 95.90% and 92.12% respectively so that the criteria of textbook are very feasible, the readability score of users by 85.50% criteria so that textbook are easy to understand, and junior high school student response scores of 91.67% the textbook received a very good response. Thus, textbook based on Problem Based Learning with nuanced ethnomathematics are very feasible to be implemented in the target class.
