Abstract

For the simulation of practical diversity combined fading channels, multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) channels, and space-time-selective fading channels, it is desirable to produce multiple Rayleigh fading processes with specified cross-correlations. Based on the deterministic sum-of-sinusoids (SOS) channel modeling approach, we have developed a simple efficient procedure for generating an arbitrary number of cross-correlated Rayleigh fading processes. It is demonstrated by numerical and simulation results that the resulting deterministic channel simulator can accurately reproduce all of the desired statistical properties, such as the autocorrelation functions (ACFs), the cross-correlation functions (CCFs), and the phase properties.
