Abstract

Objective To investigate the efficacy of atorvastatin on diabetic nephropathy and its effect on blood lipid metabolism and renal function, so as to provide reference for clinical treatment. Methods A total of 120 patients with diabetic nephropathy were collected and divided into three groups according to the random number table method; the control group (n=40) was treated with valsartan; in addition to valsartan, the observation 1 group (n=40) and observation 2 group (n=40) was treated with 20 mg/d, 40 mg/d atorvastatin, respectively. Clinical efficacy, blood lipid, renal function and inflammatory factor levels were compared among the three groups 3 months after treatment. Results The total effective rate in observation 1 group and observation 2 group were significantly higher than that in control group 3 months after treatment (P<0.05); the urinary albumin excretion rate (UAER), 24 h urinary protein (24 h Pro), triglyceride (TG), total cholesterol (TC), low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), interleukin-6 (IL-6) and interleukin-8 (IL-8) in observation 1 group and observation 2 group were significantly lower than those in control group (all P<0.05); the UAER, 24 h Pro, TC, TG, LDL-C, TNF-α, IL-6 and IL-8 in observation 2 group were significantly higher than those in observation 1 group (all P<0.05). Conclusions Atorvastatin can significantly improve the curative effect on diabetic nephropathy, and improve blood lipid metabolism, renal function and microinflammatory state in a dose-dependent manner. Key words: Diabetic nephropathy; Atorvastatin; Blood lipid metabolism; Renal function; Curative effect
