Abstract

Rationale: Fish consumption is associated with beneficial health effects, but there is still little knowledge on whether consuming different parts of the fish provides comparable or different benefits. New process technology allows fishing vessels to utilize residuals from cod fillet production (head, bone, skin and entrails) and convert this to a high-protein powder for human consumption. The current study investigated effects on serum markers of lipid metabolism in healthy adults consuming proteins from cod fillet or cod residual raw material.
