Abstract

We investigate the porosity dependence of the ferroelectric domain density and the internal stress of fine-grained (∼1 µ m) BaTiO3 ceramics using transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and X-ray diffractometry (XRD). The ferroelectric domain density and the internal stress exerted by the neighboring grains of the fine-grained BaTiO3 were examined to elucidate the effect of porosity on the dielectric properties of BaTiO3 ceramics.
