Abstract

Objective To investigate the changes of N-terminal B-type natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) and serum high-sensitivity cardiac troponin (hs-cTnT) in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) not taking dialysis. Method 124 patients with CKD not taking dialysis and treated at our hospital from March, 2016 to May, 2017 were selected as study objects and were divided into different stages according to glomerular filtration rate (eGFR). The levels of NT-proBNP and hs-cTnT in the patients of different stages were compared. The patients’ renal injury and cardiovascular disease related indicators were detected. The correlation of the levels of NT-proBNP and hs-cTnT with renal injury and cardiovascular disease related indicators were analyzed by Pearson correlation. Results Among the 124 patients, 29 cases were CKD1, 30 CKD2, 35 CKD3, and 30 CKD4. The levels of NT-proBNP and hs-cTnT increased with CKD stage, with statistical differences between each two groups (P<0.05). NT-proBNP and hs-cTnT negatively correlated with eGFR and LVEF and positively with UACR, LVH, and LVMI. Conclusions The levels of NT-proBNP and hs-cTnT in patients with CKD not taking dialysis can reflect their renal injury degree and the occurrence of cardiovascular disease and are great value in the screening of high risk population of cardiovascular adverse events.
