Objective To explore the effects of home visit on rehabilitation exercise in patients with cerebral infarction after discharging from hospital. Methods A total of 192 patients with cerebral infarction between June 2010 and December 2013 were selected and randomly divided into observation group (n=96) and control group (n=96). Patients in the control group were received routine discharge guidance and follow-up, while cases in the observation group were provided home visit to instruct the patients to carry out rehabilitation exercises. Scores of self-designed rehabilitation exercise compliance scale, the Fugl-Meyer assessment scale (FMA), Bathel index and WHOQOL-100 were compared between two groups 3 months after discharge. Results In the observation group, the scores of rehabilitation exercise compliance scale, FMA and Bathel index were (84.8±10.1), (88.1±7.2) and (70.5±11.6). All of these scores and each dimension score of WHOQOL-100 were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05).
