Abstract

The resistance of mice to asphyxiation in pure nitrogen at 5 ata, after equilibration with a high pressure atmosphere (4.2 % O2 in N2, 5 ata; “normal” Po2) producing a nitrogen anaesthesia, has been compared to the resistance of mice exposed to pure nitrogen at 1 ata after atmospheric air breathing.
