Abstract

A model incorporating finite size grain effects is developed to explain the observed nonzero Argon adsorption in two-dimensional microporous media (pillared clays) below the percolation threshold. The model assumes that small grains are formed inside the clay particles. Our theoretical results fit well with the observations at the present level of uncertainties in the experimental data. Further improvements of the current model would require more accurate experimental measurements.
