Abstract
The effects of several elicitors, including mannitol, cellulase, pectinase, salicylic acid, eggplant verticillium wilt and tomato fulvia fulva on tobacco (NC89) cell growth and synthesis of coenzyme Q10 were compared. The results showed that proper concentration of mannitol was benefit to NC89 cell growth, but it would inhibit the intracellular synthesis of coenzyme Q10;when the concentration of mannitol was 5.0 mg/L,cell’s dry weight increased by 14.6%,while the production of coenzyme Q10 only increased by 1.9%. Salicylic acid, pectinase and tomato fulvia fulva promoted the intracellular synthesis of coenzyme Q10 though certain inhibition to tobacco cell growth. When the concentrations of salicylic acid and tomato fulvia fulva were 5.0 mg/L and 25 mL/L respectively, the content of intracellular coenzyme Q10 increased by 25.8% and 66.1%,but the production of coenzyme Q10 decreased by 7.0% and 1.9% respectively. The content and production of coenzyme Q10 could be improved by 54.0% and 40.0% respectively with the concentration of pectinase at 3 U/L. Eggplant verticillium wilt elicitor and cellulase were beneficial to both cell growth and synthesis of intracellular coenzyme Q10,when their concentrations were 25 mL/L and 2 U/L,the production of coenzyme Q10 increased by 71.1% and 36.6%,respectively.
