Abstract

The dielectric response of the Langmuir-Blodgett poly(vinylidene fluoride-trifluoroethylene-chlorofloroethylene) terpolymer films with various electron irradiation doses was investigated. The dielectric data were analyzed with Vogel-Fulcher law, confirming the relaxor behavior of irradiated samples. Besides, after fitting the data to an empirical law it was proved that the diffuseness of phase transition increased with increasing irradiation dose. Both the Curie temperature and the Curie constant, which were derived from fitting the data to the Curie-Weiss law, were used to calculate a local order parameter within a spin-glass model. It was found that sharper temperature dependence of the local order parameter corresponds to less diffused phase transition.
