Abstract

The effective thermal efficiency character of internal combustion water power device is studied through experiment. The device integrated traditional combustion engine and plunger pump technique, made directly use of the rectilinear motion of plunger for outputting water power. The optimal effective thermal efficiency working zone and optimal effective thermal efficiency curve are defined and compared with traditional internal combustion engine driving plunger pump. The effective thermal efficiency in total working conditions of the device is higher than traditional internal combustion engine driving plunger pump by 13.63%-74.45%. The working conditions in same effective efficiency level of the device is wider than internal combustion engine driving plunger pump system. The highest effective thennal efficiency in different throttles of internal combustion water power device is between 19.91% and 28.88%, corresponding rotational speed is about 1 400 r/min.
