Abstract
Abstract A corrosion cell was designed and built to study the effect of liquid film thickness on the CO2 corrosion of steel. It was found that greater liquid thicknesses led to higher corrosion rate. The main product formed by this reaction was iron (II) carbonate. The results are discussed in terms of compositional changes of the electrolyte near the electrode surface and corrosion precipitate properties.
