Abstract

Results are presented from laboratory studies of the effect of the bentonite and limestone contents of pellets on their strength properties during drying. The studies established that limestone added to the charge used to make the pellets can partially offset a decrease in bentonite use. The limestone has a greater effect on the strength of the dry pellets when the drying temperature is above 500°C.
