Abstract

The arc linear induction motor (ALIM) has a static longitudinal end effect unique to the linear motor due to the truncated stator core, which has a negative impact on the performance of the motor. In this paper, based on the three-phase inductance imbalance phenomenon of the stator winding, the effect of static longitudinal end effect on air gap magnetic field, electromagnetic torque and no-load speed is deeply analyzed according to the electromagnetic field theory and the finite element calculation when the pole number is three poles and six poles, respectively. The experimental results are in agreement with the simulation results.
