Abstract

Background: Approximately 80% of people experienced LBP in their lifetime. Evidence showed motor control deficits of the deep trunk muscles in patients with LBP which may result in less than optimal spinal stabilization and be related to recurrent/chronic symptoms. Specific stabilization exercise with feedback, which aimed to restore the function of deep trunk muscles such as superficial multifidus (sMF) and deep multifidus (dMF), was suggested to modify the deficit of motor control but the quantitative effects of stabilization exercise was lacking.
