Abstract
Milk samples were collected from Jamunapari goats maintained under farm (Central Institute for Research on Goat) and field rearing systems. Milk calcium, phosphorus, magnesium and chloride contents were found higher during late lactation than mid and early lactation in both the rearing systems with higher values in farm goats. Potassium and selenium concentrations in milk were not affected by rearing system at all the three stages of lactation. Jamunapari goats under farm rearing had higher calcium, phosphorus, magnesium and chloride contents in milk than field rearing system.
