Abstract

The effect of pressure on the Curie temperature T c and the spin reorientation temperature T SR of the polycrystalline Nd 2Fe 14B compound was measured up to 4.5 GPa and 1.0 GPa, respectively. The relatively large and linear decrease of T c with pressure was observed, dT c dp =−26.5 K/GPa . The spin reorientation temperature T SR remained unaffected under the pressure up to 1.0 GPa, dT SR dp =(0±0.5) K/GPa . The results obtained have been compared with the pressure behaviour of T c of the crystalline R 2Fe 17 compounds and the amorphous FeNd and FeNdB alloys.
