Abstract
ABSTRACT In this paper we are communicating a Monte-Carlo based numerical study on the ABA type trilayered Ising spin system incorporating next nearest neighbour interactions. The ABA type system is of growing interest because of the existence of compensation temperature. The effect of next nearest neighbour interactions on compensation temperature and phase transition have been studied by focussing on thermal response of some thermodynamic quantities using the Metropolis algorithm. An effort also made to understand the role of intralayer and interlayer interactions in controlling compensation temperature and critical temperature within such a system.
