Abstract

In current article we present our results in modification of surface of the lithium manganese spinel - LiMn2O4 using Al2O3, ZrO2, TiO2, and SiO2 oxides. The aim was to ensure the stability and high efficiency of the electrode process under long cycling. For modification was used several types of LiMn2O4, synthesized on the basis of Ukrainian manganese ores using a solid-phase multistage method. For comparison has been investigated the effect of modification of: а) high quality samples of synthesized spinel and b) specially synthesized low quality samples of synthesized spinel. The surface modification of the spinel powder LiMn2O4 with Al2O3, ZrO2, TiO2, and SiO2 oxides. affects the electrochemical characteristics during the cycling of the positive electrode based on the modified spinel in the Li-ion batteries
