Abstract

The aim of present paper is investigating the modifications of surface effects or properties of die steel with EDM with powder mixed in dielectric. In this study two types of electrodes used for the machining of die steel. With used of nano powder diluted in dielectric, MRR and tool wear rate (TWR) has been significantly improved as comparison to the without use of nano powder. The surface properties of machined materials has been analysed with SEM. It has been observed that with use of nano powder high current, the poor surface finish has been observed. The machined surface has observed that, material from the powder and tool has been transferred to work piece.
