Abstract

When microwave and magnetic field are applied to Josephson junction simultaneously, maximum Josephson currents IJn of zero slope region in I-V characteristics are periodic in magnetic field. The phase difference between (n+1)th mode and n–th mode of IJn was (1/λ0d)·(hc/2e) as expected theoretically. Josephson junction has a discrete voltage nhf/2e for both signs n=±1, ±2..., if microwave and magnetic field are applied to junction simultaneously. Uncertainty in the sign of induced voltage makes it probable to realize a logic element.
