Abstract
1. The structure of the eutectic found in cast high-speed steel can be changed by high-temperature treatment. 2. The elimination of the eutectic by recrystallization depends on the peritectic reaction (at 1310–1330°C). 3. The properties of steel R18M after recrystallization (secondary hardness, red hardness, bending strength, and grain size) meet the specifications.
