Abstract

In order to study the influence of the environment on the dirt retention characteristics of composite external insulation equipments, 43 composite insulator samples were sampled and measured at 32 sampling points of 12 lines of 110-500kV and DC ±500kV lines. The test results show that the mean value of ESDD in the sampling area is 0.060 mg/cm2, and the mean value of NSDD is 0.446 mg/cm2. It is found that The holistic dirt retention in industrial and mining areas is more serious than that in other sampling environments, and the dirt retention difference of composite insulators in different areas is large, which may be related to such factors as geographical environment, pollution time, climate, meteorology, industrial structure and economic development.
