Abstract

Effects of passage of subculture and several culture conditions, nutritional, hormonal and light conditions on 3,4-dihydroxyphenylalanine (DOPA) content were examined in callus of STIZOLOBIUM HASSJOO P IPER and T RACY. The favourable conditions for DOPA accumulation were found to be suboptimal conditions for growth, i.e., low concentration of phosphate, low concentration of 2,4-D, high concentration of kinetin. Light promoted DOPA accumulation. The best condition for DOPA accumulation was discussed in relation to protein synthesis.
