Abstract

Fractions of d(A-T) n of Cancer borealis were obtained by thermal chromatography and were tested for their solubility in phenol. Fractions eluted at higher temperatures and containing a higher amount of C+G were progressively less soluble in phenol. Experiments with oligonucleotides showed that tri- to pentanucleotides which were soluble in phenol contained A, T and either a C or a G but not both.
