Abstract

Results of an experimental study of a narrow slot aperture-coupled cylindrical dielectric resonator (CDR) antenna are presented. The effect on the input impedance and resonant frequency when the slot aperture is filled with dielectric material is presented, as is the effect of an air gap between the bottom of the CDR and the edges of the slot aperture. The antenna under consideration is operating in the HEM11 mode.
