Background: Premarital sexual activity in adolescents in recent decades has increased globally. lack of understanding adolescents can be at risk of having unhealthy dating behavior, can even encourage adolescents to engage in sexual behavior to premarital sex which has an impact on teenage pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections. Prevention efforts that can be done are health education involving attractive media such as educational videos using animation as a very suitable alternative option in order to influence understanding and change the behavior of individual groups. Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of animated videos on the prevention of sexual behavior on the knowledge and attitudes of junior high school students. Methods: This study is a quantitative study with a quasi-experimental design using a pretest-posttest with control group design, which was conducted on students aged 13-15 years with 30 respondents as an intervention group, and 30 respondents as a control group. Results: Statistical analysis test in the intervention group using the Wilcoxon test found that there was an increase in knowledge and attitudes after being given an animated video with a p-value of 0.000. Statistical tests using Mann Whitney and Independent T-Test found that there were differences in the level of knowledge and attitudes between the intervention group after treatment and the control group with a p-value of 0.000. Conclusion: There is a difference in the level of knowledge and attitude of students before and after being given animated videos and leaflets in the intervention group. There is a difference in the level of knowledge and attitude of students in the intervention group who were given treatment in the form of animated videos with the control group who were not given treatment and only given leaflets.

Background and Purpose: In order to provide services based on societal values and avoid the Shariah and legal consequences of non-compliance with Shariah issues in education and treatment, nursing students should be familiar with the necessary Shariah issues. The present study aimed to assess the effect of mobile-based education of Sharia medical rules on the knowledge and attitude of final-year undergraduate students of Hazrat Fatemeh College of Nursing and Midwifery (PBUH). Materials and Methods: This quasi-experimental study was conducted on 54 final-year nursing students in two control and intervention groups. In the intervention group, Sharia issues were taught using a mobile application, and in the intervention group, education was carried out by a training booklet, and the knowledge and attitude questionnaires of the two groups were measured and compared before and two weeks after the intervention. Results: The finding demonstrated that the mean scores of knowledge and attitude of the intervention group students who received Sharia rulings training through a mobile-based application illustrated a significant change compared to the control group who received the training through a booklet (P<0.05). Although the attitude scores in the control group were also improved, there was no statistically significant difference between the two groups. Conclusion: The results of this study highlighted the positive effect of using a mobile-based application compared to booklet education in improving the knowledge and attitude of students towards Sharia issues related to education and medical services. Considering that one of the available and relatively affordable educational methods is mobile-based education, it seems that the use of this potential platform for proper education can pave the way for scientific and affordable education in terms of health compliance.

Effect of Reproductive Health Education on Teenagers Through Video Media on Knowledge and Attitudes Regarding Sexual Pre-Marriage in SMPN 1 Dente Teladas

Premarital sex is contact between partners of the opposite or same sex, for example holding hands, kissing lips, kissing cheeks, petting, and having intimate relations, which is carried out without the legal ties of marriage according to religion and marriage law. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of reproductive health education on adolescent knowledge and attitudes about premarital sex in junior high school students. The type of research used is experimental research using a pretest-posttest design. The sample in this study was 98 students consisting of 49 experimental groups and 49 control groups. Data collection uses a questionnaire. Data analysis used the Wilxocon test. From the research results, it was found that the average knowledge of teenagers before being given education in the intervention group was 5.9 after being given education was 10.7 , in the control group it was 6.1 before and after 7.3 . The average attitude of adolescents before being given education in the intervention group was 23.8 and after being given education was 37.5. in the control group it was 23.9 and after administration in the control group it was 26.8 . There was an influence in the intervention group and the control group after being given and not being given educational video media on adolescent reproductive health on knowledge and attitudes about premarital sex at SMP N 1 Dente Teladas Tulang Bawang Lampung (p-value = 0.000). There was a difference in knowledge between the intervention and control groups of 44.82, while the difference in attitudes between the intervention and control groups was 49.0 (p-value = 0.000). It is hoped that education will be provided on an ongoing basis in schools .

Evaluation of Knowledge and Attitude of Dental Residents and Students of Shahid Sadoughi University of Medical Sciences towards the Need to Prescribe Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) in Years 2022-2023

Introduction: In recent years, CBCT imaging has found many applications in dentistry due to its advantages such as 3D images, ease of imaging and the possibility of data reconstruction. The aim of this study was to evaluate the knowledge and attitude of dental residents and students of Shahid Sadoughi University of Medical Sciences towards the need to prescribe CBCT in 2022-2023.
 Methods: the current study is a cross-sectional and descriptive study.146 general dentistry students and 24 dental residents participated in this study. 23 questions in the field of knowledge and attitude about the use of CBCT were used. The validity of the questionnaire was confirmed by using sources, valid scientific articles and by presenting and consulting radiology specialists. To determine the reliability, retest and Cronbach's alpha coefficient was used. Finally, the results were statistically analyzed by SPSS software version16 using chi-square, t-test and correlation tests.
 Results: The level of knowledge and attitude of general students was higher than dental residents. Moreover, there was a significant difference between the level of knowledge and attitude of students with their duration of study at the university, so the higher the academic year, the lower the knowledge and attitude.
 Conclusion: The results of the present study showed that dental students of Shahid Sadoughi University of Medical Sciences have a relatively moderate knowledge and attitude about the use of CBCT.

The impact of health education videos on the level of knowledge and attitudes of pregnant women about danger signs in pregnancy

Introduction: Complications of pregnancy can cause morbidity and mortality. Pregnant women should know about these complications so that they can immediately get intervention. Some of these complications are referred to as danger signs of pregnancy. The aim of the paper to know the effect of health education videos on the level of knowledge and attitudes about danger signs in pregnancy.Methods: This quasi-experimental study used a nonequivalent pretest-posttest with control group design. This research was conducted at Jetis Public Health Center (PHC) (intervention group) and Pajangan PHC (control group). The number of respondents was 64 pregnant women. The control group received education with the Maternal and Child Health (MCH) handbook while the intervention group also received education using MCH handbook and education using videos about the danger signs of pregnancy. An educational video with a duration of 10 minutes 19 seconds contains about danger signs of pregnancy and actions that must be taken to overcome these problems. Educational videos were given to respondents via Android phones that can be watched repeatedly. data analysis has been carried out with the t test.Results: Based on the homogeneity test on the characteristic data between the intervention and control group were homogeneous. Comparison between the difference the knowledge of the pre-posttest in the intervention group compared to the difference the pre-posttest knowledge of the control group (8.59 vs. 0.31) with p value = 0.311, meaning that there is no effect of providing education with video on knowledge. Comparison between the difference in pre-posttest attitudes of the intervention group compared with the difference in pre-posttest attitudes of the control group (1.71 vs -1.21) p value = 0.001, meaning that there is an effect of providing education with video on attitudes.Conclusion: Health education videos can improve the attitude about the danger signs of pregnancy.

Influence of Dental Health Against Knowledge and Attitude of Elementary School Students on Dental Caries in the Sunter Jaya Jakarta Utara

Background , Dental health problems in Indonesia to date still need to get attention considering the high prevalence of dental caries. From the survey results of DKI province 2015, shows only 14% of children aged 5-6 years free of caries. Knowledge and sikaf about oral health will indirectly maintain oral health and ultimately can prevent the occurrence of dental caries. This means that knowledge about school age is the age of children between 6-12 years old teeth and mouth can affect the incidence of dental caries. Children entering school age have a higher risk of caries. Mothers need to keep an eye on children's snack patterns at school. SDN 01 Sunter Jaya has high caries data compared to other SDNs ie DMF-T index of 4.0. Methods, The purpose of this study was to know the influence of dental health education on the knowledge and attitude of elementary school students about dental caries in Sunter Jaya area, North Jakarta. This research used quasi experimental approach model, with Pretest Posttest With control group design where the researcher made the first observation (pretest) done before dental and oral health counseling. The place of research is at SDN 01 Sunter Jaya which is located at Sunter Jaya Jakarta Utara. The reseacrh start on May - November 2017. The sample in this study for the experimental group and control group are 36 students each. Results , After counseling students have a good knowledge of 24 students (66.7%) and 32 students (88.9%) and students who are positive about dental and oral health. The result of statistical test shows that there is a significant difference between the knowledge and the students' attitude before and after being given health counseling value p value 0,000 ≤ α 0,05. From the group multivariate GLM outcomes given extension both to improve the knowledge and attitude of students (p value = 0,000) and the value of each knowledge and attitude of students 33,056 and 12,722. Conclusion There is a significant influence between dental and oral health information on students' knowledge and attitude about dental caries at SDN 01 Sunter Jaya students. Suggestions for SD 01, Pukesmas, and Sudinkes always prioritize dental and oral hygiene and hygiene with counseling and improve the UKGS program in schools.

Nutrition Knowledge and Attitude Change of Students Studying in State and Private Secondary Schools

The aim of this study is to analyse the changes in nutrition knowledge and attitudes of secondary school students depending on certain socio-demographic factors. The universe of the study is composed of 521 students, including 142 female and 379 male students studying in the secondary school and the sampling group in Konya province private and state central secondary education schools. The "Nutrition Knowledge and Attitude Scale", developed by Ertürk (2010), was used for nutrition attitude and knowledge and personal information form to acquire socio-demographic information. Descriptive statistics of the data were made, variance and homogeneity were tested, independent sample t test was used for binary comparisons, One Way Anowa was utilized for multiple comparisons, and Tukey test was benefitted to determine difference sources. Nutrition knowledge of students in state schools was found to be lower than that of students in private schools and this gap was identified to be statistically significant (P <0.05). Nutritional knowledge and attitudes of female students were determined to be higher than males’ and this difference was found to be statistically significant (P <0.05). Nutritional knowledge and attitudes of students who received elective nutrition classes were found to be higher than those who did not have nutrition classes and this change was again found to be statistically significant (P <0.05). The number of siblings and education status of parents were found to be statistically significant variants (P <0.05). As a result, the high level of nutrition knowledge and attitudes of female students compared to male students, the status and role of cultural transfer and social structure featured on male and female can be seen as the reason for that matter. It can be said that taking a nutrition class has a positive influence on nutrition knowledge and attitude, and that private school students have more nutrition knowledge yet similar nutrition attitudes with those in state schools.

A Comparative Study of Trauma Management Education Using Traditional and Combined Methods with Instructional Videos on the Knowledge and Skills of Medical Students

Background: Improving the knowledge and skills of medical students using new educational methods to deal with trauma can help reduce the mortality and morbidity of injured patients. Objectives: This study aimed to compare the effect of traditional training with combined trauma management training using educational videos on the knowledge and skills of medical interns at Mashhad University in 2021. Methods: This educational intervention study involved two groups during the academic year 2019 - 2020. Eighty-seven medical interns participated over a six-month period and were randomly assigned to either the intervention or control group. Data collection tools included a demographic questionnaire, a clinical skills checklist covering seven skills, and a pretest-posttest MCQ test. Statistical tests used included the independent univariate test and multiple linear regression, analyzed with Stata Ver 17 software. The significance level was set at 0.05. Results: The average knowledge score of the intervention and control groups before the intervention was 12.09 ± 3.06 and 13.00 ± 3.01, respectively. After the intervention, the average knowledge score was 14.84 ± 3.30 in the intervention group and 15 ± 2.98 in the control group. The average skill score of the students before the intervention in the intervention and control groups was 7.00 ± 2.67 and 7.56 ± 2.42, respectively. After the intervention, the skill score was 10.67 ± 3.70 in the intervention group and 8.72 ± 3.46 in the control group. Conclusions: Although the advanced trauma life support course in Iran is relatively new, its positive impact on increasing the skills of medical students suggests a need to review traditional teaching methods. Incorporating new combined methods could enhance the quality of education and improve the skill levels of young doctors.

The Effect of Providing Animated Videos of Dengue Fever on Knowledge and Attitudes of Students of Singajaya 2 Elementary School

Background : The number of dengue fever (DBD) cases in Indramayu Regency in 2023 was 171 cases with 9 deaths. In the area of Plumbon Community Health Center,including Singajaya, there were 20 cases of dengue fever from January to May 2024. These cases mostly affected children aged 7-12 years. Objective : This research aims to investigate the influence of dengue fever animated video media on students of SD Negeri 2 Singajaya. Research Method : This study used a quantitative research method, namely quasi-experimental with a one-group pre-test post-test design. The sampling technique used Total Sample with 43 samples of students in grades 5 and 6. Data collection method used Pre-test and Post-test sheets. Data analysis used univariate and bivariate analysis with the Wilcoxon test. Research Results Based on the research results, before the animated video was given, the knowledge level was in the Fair category 34.9%, and Poor 65.1%. The respondents' attitudes before the animated video were categorized as Fair 58.1% and Poor 41.9%. After the animated video was given, there was a change in the knowledge level with Good category 20.9%, Fair 39.5%, and Poor 39.5%. The respondents' attitudes after the treatment were categorized as Good 25.6%, Adequate 48.8%, and Inadequate 25.6%. Conclusion : Based on the Wilcoxon test results, a p-value of <0.003 was obtained, which means there was an increase in knowledge and attitudes of the students after the animated video was given. There is an influence before and after the provision of dengue fever animated video on the knowledge and attitudes of the students. Based on the research results, it is hoped that animation media can be used as an outreach medium, and future researchers are expected to be able to research the practice of implementing dengue fever prevention

Helminthiasis in children still occurs in Seren Rembang. Educational video can enhance knowledge and attitudes in order to reduce the morbidity of Helminthiasis. This study aims to determine the impact of providing Helminthiasis educational video on the level of knowledge and attitude of students at SDN Seren Rembang. Research method is Quasi Experimental using a "pre-post test one group only" design. Total sampling involved 37 students of SDN Seren Rembang. Two questionnaires utilized to measure the knowledge and the attitude. Data analysis using the Paired Sample t-test. Result : Educational video is able to increase the average level of students' knowledge and attitude from 4.43 into 7.75, and from 30.43 into 33.37, respectively. Paired samples t-test is significant for both knowledge (p = 0,000), and attitude (p = 0,002). This study conclude that providing Helminthiasis educational video affect the level of knowledge and attitude of students at SDN Seren Rembang.

A randomized controlled trial of behavior change counseling education for medical students

Background: Educating medical students about how to effectively counsel patients with negative health behaviors (i.e., lack of exercise, smoking) is vitally important. Behavior change counseling is a promising method that can be used by physicians to encourage positive changes in health behaviors.Purpose: To examine the effectiveness of a 2 h workshop in behavior change counseling for medical students.Methods: This study used a pre–post control group design with 35 second-year medical students who were randomly assigned to participate in a behavior change counseling intervention or wait-list control group. Student knowledge and attitudes were assessed using multiple choice items and open-ended question prompts. Student skills were assessed via performance in a standardized patient encounter rated using the Behavior Change Counseling Index (BECCI).Results: Student attitudes toward behavior change counseling were positive at both pre- and post-test assessment in both groups. Knowledge scores and BECCI total scores showed significantly greater improvement in the intervention group compared to the wait-list control group.Conclusions: This study found that a brief educational intervention had a positive impact on medical students’ knowledge and skills in behavior change counseling, and that student attitudes about the counseling method were very positive.

Introduction: It is very important to prevent Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STIs) as they cause many other health problems with serious complications. In fact, prevention is the most effective mean of dealing with STIs. In saying that, the basic requirements of prevention include appropriate health education on the subject. This study compares the effectiveness of two health education programs regarding bacterial STIs among male students at Nursing and Medical Schools of Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences and Health Services in Tehran. Materials and Methods: The quasi-experimental study included 430 male students aged between 18 and 30 who were majoring in nursing and medical field. Two faculties were selected through purposeful non-random sampling. A valid and reliable researcher-made questionnaire was filled out in two steps (before and one month after the training). The training interventions in direct education group included a lecture along with a session of questions and answers (Q&As) for one and a half hours. On the other hand, the indirect education only included a weblog on the topic of STIs. The statistical tests were employed to analyze the collected data in SPSS 22. Results: Generally, students’ knowledge and attitudes toward this subject were at a moderate level before the intervention, and only %18.4 of them were well-aware of bacterial STIs. In fact, %44 of the respondents had positive attitudes toward those diseases. The research results indicated that the educational intervention managed to increase the awareness and attitudes of the students in relation to STIs in the two case groups in comparison with the control group. However, the different methods of education produced similar results and had no significant differences. Moreover, attitudes increased in the weblog group slightly more than the lecture group. Conclusion: According to the findings of this research, The weblog intervention had more effects on their attitudes than the lecture intervention. Therefore, the modern training method based on the use of the internet (weblog) can be used effectively as an alternative or supplement to traditional training methods.

Effectiveness of a program on evidence-based dentistry in dental students

INTRODUCTION:Evidence-based dentistry (EBD) is an approach to oral healthcare by combining the best scientific evidence and clinical diagnostics, clinical expertise of the dentist, and the patient's treatment needs and preferences. The aim of the present study is to evaluate the effectiveness of an education program on EBD offered in a community-dentistry course in improving knowledge and attitudes of students in this regard.STUDY METHODS:By a quasi-experimental study design, 64 senior dental students of Islamic Azad University of Khorasgan recruited in a controlled trial. All of the students were randomized as intervention (32) and control (32) groups. A course-based educational program on EBD was randomly assigned to one group. Actual knowledge, self-assessed knowledge, and attitudes, before and after education, were measured in both groups. A questionnaire consisted of 40 items developed by the researcher was used after confirming its validity and reliability. The difference between mean scores at two timelines were measured and compared in three fields by paired t-test and independent t-test analysis via SPSS version 20 software.RESULTS:While the mean scores of actual and self-assessed knowledge and attitude were not significantly different between two groups at the beginning of the program (P > 0.05), the mean scores of all fields in the intervention group were significantly more than those of the control group after education (P < 0.001). The effect size of intervention was 86%, 62%, and 57% in three fields, respectively. There was not a significant difference between mean scores of three fields in the control group, after the intervention.CONCLUSION:Due to the poor knowledge and attitudes of students and improved knowledge and attitudes of the intervention group after education, the education program seems to be effective. Durability of educational impact and evaluating evidence-based performance can be studied in the future.

Assessment of Knowledge, Attitude and Skills of Students on Integrated Learning Management System in Ekiti State Tertiary Institutions

The study investigated the assessment of knowledge, attitude, and skills of students in integrated learning management systems in tertiary institutions at Ekiti State. A descriptive study was adopted for this study. The population for the study consisted of all State University in Ekiti State, while the sample size consisted 200 undergraduate accounting students and 200 students were selected in two selected institutions via purposive and simple random sampling technique. Students’ skills were tested through practical experience in the class to ascertain their competency skills. The research instrument used for the study was a questionnaire on Knowledge, Attitude and Skills (KAS). Face and content validity of the instrument were ensured by experts in Educational Technology and ICT, while test-retest was adopted to ascertain the reliability of the instrument; the test was carried out in a school of the same characteristics that are not part of the sample to ensure the accuracy of the instrument items. A reliability coefficient of 0.75 was obtained. One null hypothesis was raised and tested at 0.05 level of significance. The data collected was analysed using Analysis of Variance. The study’s findings revealed a significant relationship between the level of knowledge, skills and attitude of students towards integrated learning Management Systems. The study revealed that the knowledge of students significantly influences the attitude of students on virtual learning. It was recommended that training students on virtual learning should be encouraged to develop a good attitude toward the use of virtual learning for teaching delivery. It was also recommended that internet facilities be provided for the students to develop more interest in virtual learning. Students should be encouraged to get Android phones for the benefit of receiving lectures through virtual learning. Lecturers should encourage their students on the need for virtual learning in tertiary institutions.

The Influence of Health Promotion Interventions on the Knowledge and Attitudes of Islamic Students Regarding Clean and Healthy Living Behavior at Islamic Boarding Schools in Batang Hari Regency

Islamic boarding schools are one of the educational institutions in Indonesia. Students at Islamic boarding schools gain knowledge from teachers, kyai or ustadz. The increasing number of students in Islamic boarding schools has created habits such as eating together on one tray, not washing hands with soap before eating, sharing toiletries, and even sharing clothes. This bad habit causes an increase in the number of students suffering from illnesses such as acute respiratory infection, diarrhea, typhus and scabies. Clean and healthy living behavior in Islamic boarding schools is a collection of behaviors that are practiced on the basis of awareness as a result of learning, which makes the Islamic boarding school community independently able to prevent disease, improve their health, and play an active role in creating a healthy environment. This research aims to determine the effect of peer education methods on Clean and Healthy Living Behavior of Santri in Islamic Boarding Schools: Study on students of Irsyadul 'Ibad Islamic Boarding School, Batanghari Regency.This research is a quasi-experimental design research with a two-group pre test-post test control group design. The sample size is 84 respondents divided into 2 groups, namely the Peer Education experimental group with 42 respondents and the control group with 42 respondents. Each group lives in a different dormitory. The results of the bivariate analysis test with the Wilcoxon T-Test showed that the intervention group (peer educators) Knowledge p= 0.006, attitude p= 0.003 and the control group knowledge p= 0.000, attitude=0.009. So it can be statistically concluded that the peer education method influences the knowledge and attitudes of students regarding clean and healthy living behavior in the Batanghari Regency Islamic Boarding School. The Effect of Health Promotion with WhatsApp Media and Booklets on Knowledge Level and Attitude about HIV/Aids

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of health promotion with social media and booklets on students' knowledge and attitudes about HIV/Aids. This research uses Quasi Experimental method with pretest-posttest control group design. The sampling technique used is random sampling, and analyzed by t-test with the Stata 13 program. The population in this study were students of Kusuma Husada University Surakarta batch 2019 of the Bachelor of Nursing Study Program. The sample in this study used random sampling, with only 17 people randomized per class. Then from the total, a total of 102 sampling subjects were taken. Data collection in this study was carried out using a questionnaire instrument used to guide the interview. Questionnaires are data collection tools used in interviews containing a list of well-structured and matured questions. Questionnaires in uni research include, knowledge, attitudes. The data that has been obtained from filling out the questionnaire is then processed and analyzed using SPSS version 23 software. Based on the results of the bivariate analysis with the following results students' knowledge of HIV after the intervention for the intervention group was 51 people (Mean 27.88; SD 3.59) students' knowledge about HIV after the intervention for the control group was 51 people (Mean 22.50; SD 3.30) with a significant value of knowledge students about HIV after the intervention was (p &lt; 0.001) with an effect size value (ES = 1.55). Bivariate analysis with the results of student attitudes about HIV after the intervention for the intervention group as many as 51 people (Mean 63.43 SD: 6.89) student attitudes about HIV after the intervention for the control group as many as 51 people (mean 44.01 SD 8.58) with a significant value of student attitudes about HIV after the intervention of (p&lt;0.001) with an effect size value (ES=2.39).
