Abstract

Two Zn-based complexes, namely {[Zn(L3)(2,2′-bipy)(H2O)2]n·L3} (1), and [Zn(L3)2(phen)(H2O)] (2) (HL3 = 3-(4-hydroxyphenyl)propanoic acid, 2,2′-bipy = 2,2′-bipyridine and phen = 1,10-phenanthroline), have been synthesized and structurally characterized by single-crystal diffraction analysis. Both 1 and 2 have mononuclear units, which are further linked into different 2D layers via the hydrogen bond interactions. Furthermore, the luminescent and stable properties of 1–2 are also discussed.
