Abstract
Apresenta-se um estudo sobre a Associação Portuguesa de Pais e Amigos dos Cidadãos Deficientes Mentais (APPACDM), de Braga - Portugal, tendo por objetivo compreender como a educação formal e não formal destas pessoas é salutogenicamente compreendida e partilhada nesta instituição, nomeadamente ao nível de espaço e de ambiente. Procedeu-se, quanto à metodologia, à análise documental da instituição, à observação direta e a uma entrevista com a responsável pela administração da instituição. Os dados coletados são favoráveis à dimensão salutogênica, ainda que possamos referir algumas críticas.
