Abstract

The growing interest in studying masculinity from a gender perspective is a new challenge for feminism and a new space to build gender equality. For this reason, the feminist movement should establish moral commitment to promote new ethical masculinities. Indeed such masculinity models can contribute to achieve an egalitarian society. Hence, their promotion should be based on moral values which would allow gender prejudices to be banished. We believe that both the bases of feminist political theory and the ethica cordis of philosopher Adela Cortina, can contribute to the collective construction of new masculinities through citizens’ moral education.
