Abstract

In Sydney, on August 16–17 2009, the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand (CSANZ) held its Inaugural Indigenous Cardiovascular Health Conference. This was the first conference specifically addressing cardiovascular disease in the Indigenous populations of Australia and New Zealand, and provided a platform for a systematic exploration of the scope of the deficits in cardiovascular health care in our two countries.
