Abstract
Chronic orchialgia comprises 2.5% of urology clinic visits with an estimated prevalence of 100,000 men per year.1,2 Considering how common it is, it has been understudied leaving an unmet need in the medical literature for investigations such as this one. Spermatic cord block has been established as an important part of the diagnostic evaluation for men with chronic orchialgia when considering surgical intervention.3-5 The current study suggests that an additional 15%-18% of men may be considered candidates for microsurgical spermatic cord denervation (MSCD) with the reported improved outcome of 88% of men with pain reduction of greater than 50% after MSCD with candidacy based on the modified spermatic cord block vs.
