Abstract

The Best Paper Award scheme was established in the journal in 1985. The purpose of the scheme is to recognize prominent papers, promote high-quality research published in the journal, and provide encouragement and acknowledgment of authors' hard work. Nominations for the 2022 best paper award are now open from among published articles in the 12 issues of volume 50. Nominations should be submitted by email to member of the Editorial Board Dr. Paolo Manfredi (paolo.manfredi@polito.it) who will handle the award selection process. Nominations should be accompanied by an explanation of the significance of the contribution compared to recent and relevant published work in the field and highlights of specific points of innovation and novelty that merit the award. The deadline for receiving nominations is May 1, 2023. Meanwhile, the journal has gone through another year of steady growth receiving over 1087 in the past 12 months from which 288 articles have been accepted. We strive to assign all submissions to the most relevant member of the Editorial Board and to assign at least three reviewers for each submission where possible. Due to the large number of received submissions, many articles have been returned to the authors with the advice to seek another suitable journal. Articles are usually grouped together according to their topic in the monthly published issues to improve and attract readership. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all authors who have opted to publish in this journal for their contributions and also thank all members of the Editorial Board for their hard work to ensure an efficient and timely review process.
