Abstract
In work events of the first stage (1918–1925) of formation and development of economic geography as scientific direction and subject matter are reflected in our country. The contribution of Vladimir E. Den’s school of sciences to development of economic geography and its teaching at the higher school in Petrograd (Leningrad) and in the country in general is considered. The first stages of formation of geographical “regional” school, Sergey V. Bernstein-Kogan’s contribution are reflected. In an essay the analysis of theoretical provisions and ideological prerequisites of formation of different schools of sciences is carried out. The review of the main scientific and theoretical works, textbooks and manuals of this period is carried out.
