Economic Analysis of the Technological Megatrend and its Development Directions in the Post-pandemic World

Abstract

Technological progress is one of the most important drivers of civilization and it affects all areas of human life. It is no exaggeration to say in the scientific paper that the technological megatrend differs in the degree of interaction between other economic, demographic, energy and militaristic megatrends. The most important trigger of technological development has always been the war, or the preparation process for it. From earlier times, before the end of the Cold War, the mankind was characterized by a remarkable feature, it used the best resources, both material and human, for military purposes, and therefore one of the drivers of technological progress from time immemorial was the military field. Therefore, much attention is paid in the article to the interinfluence of the militaristic and technological trends. This is also justified by the fact that the Covid-19 pandemic caused by the new coronavirus on the planet today, by nature of the formation of the extreme demand, resembles a state of war. Moreover, the paper analyzes the technological megatrend using the relevant indicators, and analyzes three global western, Russian and Chinese forces, on the basis of which the author concludes that for Georgia the alliance with the Western Global Forces is not only vital in terms of security,but as well as for rapid improvement of those bad markers that our country has in the technological development direction.
