Abstract

In support of Robert Barnett's thesis, this essay addresses challenges that confront post-modern institutions of Higher Education as functions of corporate policies and hidden agendas that have reshaped post-Modern universities via the sedulous negation of classical instruction in lieu of mass conditioning. Fabian Socialists are indicted along with elitist foundations for the denigration of higher learning in favor of social constructions that endorse global fascism. The paper addresses typical problems in Malaysia and proposes a return to genuine meritocracy vs. the business model that embraces politically correct quotas, bias and unqualified candidates. The author suggests an expansion of facilities (e-learning) and concepts that more properly embrace and nurture the community's commonwealth by adopting and modifying traditional strategies that usher the 'Public Ecological University' to the adaptation rostrum of Higher Learning.
