Eastern and Western Educational Philosophies Explored Through Macro Lenses Is There a Possibility of Convergence/Synergy Towards an Intercultural Philosophy in Education?

Abstract

From a layman’s understanding of the term ‘intercultural philosophy’, it may be understood to mean a form of integrated philosophy combining Eastern and Western ideas where these share some sort of parallels albeit being grounded in different rationalizations. It would make sense to understand that where the Eastern and Western philosophies starkly differ from each other, then a common ground may not be envisaged as a platform to integrate the two. Nevertheless, ideas which differ but yet are not at odds with each other may be capable of being converged to form a Best Practices Model in the sphere of educational philosophy that would prove to be a uniting platform for both the Eastern and Western civilizations and a point of initiation to progress in tandem with each other in the era of a globalized world.
