Abstract

Abstract Cotton was direct seeded to moist Raymondville clay loam soil 15 Apr at the Texas Agricultural Research and Extension annex farm in Mercedes. Insecticide treatments were made by placing materials in the seed furrow at planting. Experimental design was a randomized complete block with 8 treatments and 5 blocks. Plots were 2 beds (40-inch centers) by 40 ft long with a buffer row of sorghum between beds. Plots were surveyed for early-season pests (thrips, aphids, fleahoppers) by examining 10 plants/plot. The field was irrigated 30 May.
