Early enoxaparin treatment in a newborn with cerebral venous sinus thrombosis and acute cerebellar hemorrhage

The management with anticoagulant therapy in neonates with cerebral sinus venous thrombosis (CSVT) is still controversial. Heparin may cause intracranial hemorrhage while a watchful wait may result in thrombus progression. We present the case of a term neonate with CSVT, successfully treated with heparin in an early timing and discuss the controversies of the treatment in the available literature.
