Abstract

The {ital K}-internal conversion coefficients of the 2{sub 2}{sup +}{r arrow}2{sub 1}{sup +} and 2{sub 3}{sup +}{r arrow}2{sub 1}{sup +} transitions in {sup 110}Cd and the 2{sub 3}{sup +}{r arrow}2{sub 1}{sup +} transition in {sup 112}Cd have been measured. The available experimental information on {ital K}-conversion coefficients, mixing ratios {ital E}2/{ital M}1, and lifetimes for the 2{sub {ital i}}{sup +}{r arrow}2{sub {ital f}}{sup +} transitions in {sup 110,112,114}Cd have been utilized to deduce the ratios {ital B}({ital E}0)/{ital B}({ital E}2), and {ital B}({ital E}0)/{ital B}({ital M}1) and the monopole strength parameter {rho}{sup 2}. The experimental data are compared to the theoretical values calculated in the framework of the interacting proton-neutron boson model. By exploiting also the available data on {rho}{sup 2} for the 0{sub 2}{sup +}{r arrow}0{sub 1}{sup +} transitions in these nuclei the boson effective charges in the {ital E}0 operator have been deduced.
