Abstract

In recent years a number of significant experimental and theoretical studies (including reviews [1–4]) have been conducted on the dynamics of molecular processes on a surface. On the basis of these studies, some important concepts have been developed or extended. In this chapter, the dynamics of elementary processes occurring on a surface under thermal conditions will be discussed. The transition state theory, molecular dynamics calculations, and nonequilibrium and nonadiabatic effects are considered in detail.
