Abstract

We investigate the effect of photoirradiation in temperature cycling for the system with both spin-crossover (SC) and magnetic transitions such as Prussian Blue analogs (PBA). We present a formulation for dynamics of PBA (dynamics of SC phenomena with magnetic ordering) with the effect of photoirradiation, adopting a new model in which the SC phenomena and magnetic ordering are incorporated in a unified way. Using a master equation approach with multiple time scales, we observe temperature (time) dependence of magnetization (m) and high spin fraction (q) of the system under photoirradiation. We show the characteristic features of photoinduced thermal hysteresis of the high spin fraction which has been observed in experiments and also show a new phenomenon, i.e., possibility of photoinduced thermal hysteresis of magnetization.
