Abstract
Based on the city data from 2003 to 2016, this paper evaluates the low-carbon level of Guangxi Province and cities. The entropy weight method is used to calculate the low-carbon level of each city, and then the FDA method and various curves are used to investigate the potential dynamic changes. The findings are as follows: (1) The low-carbon levels of cities in Guangxi are quite different, with Nanning (0.7739), Liuzhou (0.3936) and Guilin (0.3585) ranking the first three, Baise (0.1786), Hechi (0.1726) and Laibin (0.1726) (2) From the perspective of the dynamic characteristics of low-carbon development in different cities, the low-carbon level of most cities has an upward trend, but a few cities show a downward trend; (3) From the perspective of the dynamic characteristics of the overall low-carbon development, the overall low-carbon development level of Guangxi Province shows a trend of first falling and then increasing, and it still keeps an obvious upward trend at the end of the sample. This paper provides theoretical support for low-carbon development in Guangxi, which has important practical significance for realizing the goal of "peak carbon dioxide emissions, carbon neutral".
