Abstract

Raman spectra of melt quenched selenium glass are presented. Bands at 31, 62 and 93 cm -1 and a pronounced resonance effect, reported by Carini, et al., Sol. St. Comm. 33 , 1143 (1980), are shown to be experimental artifacts originating from intracavity optical elements in their dye laser.
